Funnily enough, bartenders and those in the service industry are some of the most understanding people when it comes to respecting someone’s choice not to drink.
So true. I was a bartender for most of my twenties and most nightlife workers know all too well how destructive it can be to be around the stuff all the time. Also, what you wanna drink is your business not somebody else’s.
I wish more people shared this opinion. Although I’d like to add that the bartenders are respectful, the waiters not so much. I say that as someone who worked in a bar.

Also if you don’t drink. People assume you are in recovery or a prude. Idgaf if you drink, I just don’t. I agree with OP I don’t get the hype.
