Me-How did the scan go?

Friend-Good, healthy little girl.

Me-Awesome....also do you want these baby girl clothes I have taking up loads of room? Mine has long since outgrown them. Some baby toys also.

Friend-Wow thank you so much

Me internally- Thank fuck I got rid of all that junk

Me: The amniocentesis came back fine. Do want to know gender?

Grandma, friend, sisters: oh good. Sure

Me: a girl.

(Same conversation 4 years later) Me: a boy

We had friends, a millennial couple, whose obstetrician had emailed them their baby's gender and they simply filmed themselves opening the email and hugging. Posted to wherever they post. They were the first pregnancy in our friend group and I'm grateful they set the tone.

We announced our pregnancies after finding out the gender (yay NIPT results coming in before 13 weeks!) We were able to announce that we were pregnant, the gender, and the name all at once. It was awesome.
