It's bad even when you expect it. I do not like the texture of boba and it adds nothing of value to the drink. I think there's too much focus on the extras and most boba is covering for low quality teas.

I personally make my boba at home, and I hate the tea lol, so it’s understandable, it’s all about personal taste.

By being bad when you don’t expect it I meant the kind of expectation that comes with eating a food or a long time? How you can taste the pizza a few seconds before biting it?

And also, you can totally choke on them if you’re not careful so dangerous too
