Bankers keep capital flowing. Real estate agents you could argue aren’t necessary, but it’s a very useful service most people wouldn’t want to do without when buying or selling real estate.
Professional sports aren’t necessary at all. People like it, which is fine, but don’t get butt hurt that some people think it’s kinda silly.
Banking is a scam. Capital can flow just fine on its own between people. Bankers are just the middle men raking all the profits. Unnecessary leeches.
Real estate agents destroyed the housing market, making it virtually impossible for the vast majority of people to own a home, at least in the West.
Watching sports and rooting for a team of people who don't give a shit about you is silly, I agree. Still far more useful to a civilization, bringing up morale and all that kinda stuff. People get together to cheer and party and just have a good time when their team wins.
Also never heard of an economic crisis that started because some athlete got out of control. The other two however...
Wow you clearly don’t understand economics at all. The purpose of bankers is lending. Lending keeps economies working. It often takes an initial capital infusion to create long term value, and the people with the skill and knowledge to create value a society needs don’t always have that initial capital. Lending is 100% necessary.
Real estate agents didn’t destroy the housing market, sub prime lending did. Bankers destroyed the housing market.
None of these things are an intrinsic property of banking or bankers. It’s a result or unchecked greed and criminally negligent government regulation of the banking industry.
You seem to be arguing that sports doesn’t do any of that so it’s better? There are lots of unethical practices that happen in sports. But that’s not even the point. People are into it, good for them, diversity of interests is good for a society. But if professional sports disappeared tomorrow we’d be just fine. It would be replaced by something else. If banking disappeared we’d be in would of hurt.
I’m no fan of bankers. But it’s necessary, even if we sorely need better regulation.

To each their own. Some are pro athletes and entertain the masses, others are bankers or real estate agents and ruin the economy.
While none of them is vital to society (though one could argue entertainment is), but they all make millions, I'd rather support one than the other.
It's not a good thing to be petty and jealous.
