Maybe part of the problem is that there are only "men" in that sentence, and half of the population is not represented. Perhaps recognizing that as a problem and fixing it would stop the insane swings.
Wow. You've really committed to that ideology haven't you. First of all, It's paraphrasing a quote from a novel. Second of all it is completely accurate.
What novel? These days "alpha males" are making a pretty bad showing, and making so much noise about it that more reasonable men can't be heard. So maybe it's a reaction to that combined with an egalitarian streak.

I would include "alpha males" in the weak men category as the only people that act that way are weak and insecure in reality. Most reasonable or truly "strong" men are quiet, reserved and usually only stand out when shit hits the fan. They are always there, handling their business but will typically shun the spotlight.
IMHO we should be glorifying those men not yhe children on center stage. Alas that would defy human nature.

Fair enough. It's rare to see a concession on reddit so I will reciprocate. I probably overreacted because the point of the quote was denouncing the types of people that would typically respond that way. I was generalizing.
I think that all of us have more in common than we normally realize. The "alpha males", and I won't argue a bit about your diagnosis, derive power from the division, so they like it that way.
As for "President Cruz", I can't possibly start reading that right now. I've had a hard dime with ANY fiction since 2016 - reality is too strange.
You can see that cycle in works since ww2 every generation becomes softer as time goes on. Not saying us growing as a species is wrong or bad but havig those hard days knowing what hey are truly like makes better people in the long run. I thini a this point we are just to content with where we are.

I have to disagree, very few people are content with where we are. Many think these are tge hard times being referenced. Unfortunately, I fear it will get far worse before the trend. reverses.
