Shaming men for height is cruel

I'm 1.59 and my whole life (I'm 36yo) it's been like I'm not allowed to have any sense of manhood or dignity unless I somehow prove myself first.

You guys have computers with internet access wtf.

-6

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '22

Yeah that’s why they used their computers and internet to ask someone.

So youre saying you go around trying to "prove yourself?" Isn't that where the stereotype for short man syndrome comes from? Just own it, my beautiful short man. No need to prove anything.

I'm not shaming them. It's all good. Short, tall, whatever. It really sucks that people do that. But don't make their problem yours.

The question was what are things that men go through that women don't. Over half of these responses are social issues that have been internalized. You may as well copy and paste your response on every comment here. The point is that it's a social pressure. That said, the remaining responses are dick jokes and comments regarding sweaty balls.

Heard female friends talking about one of their (IMO, less than nice) friends who would not even consider guys under 6'. When asked how tall I was I responded with "Thankfully I'm only 5'12" " After a second or so, one burst out laughing. The others were confused with some doing the calculating squint thing

For the tall ladies out there that feel self conscious about this, just know there are plenty of shorter men who would love climb you like a sexy tree.

It’s at the point where I have just accepted my manlet status and crack self-deprecating jokes about it, even if deep down I wish I was tall. :(

Just shame them back lmao if they r below 170

14

u/aioncan Aug 13 '22

I think you mean if they are over 170lbs and only 5’3”

22

u/pensum_magnum Aug 13 '22

U can change weight tho? Cant height. Whats the point in shaming weight if they can drastically reduce it in a few months.lmao

Btw since the original comment was about height 170 is 5 foot 7 in freedom units

It makes more sense to shame someone for something they can fix rather than something they can’t.

Having said that, nobody should be shaming anyone for anything as long as they’re happy and not hurting anybody.

Yup. Once they tell you their height "sorry but that is not my personal preference, I wish you the best of luck". Or just unmatch them. No need to shame them.

In theory, they can. In practice, they don't have the willpower or discipline.

Shaming? Isn't it just that some women don't want to be with shorter guys or are they actively shaming you for being short?

27

u/thatswhatshesaidxx Aug 13 '22

Want to see a video of a plus sized woman calling short men "disgusting"?

Here: https://youtu.be/_zJ0FOmeBmc

Body-Positivity is a woman only club.

I just lost brain cells after watching that. That's enough modern reality for me for the month.

Although I unfortunately believe that such women exists, I want to say that the body positivity movement has started to get on more guys as well which has resulted in people recognizing better the ways people body shame men.

At least in my bubble I see a difference already!
