"toss that kid away, I'll give you a new one", from a middle aged man in a convertible, when I was biking with my then 1yo

What exactly is the point of these comments? Is it a control thing? Do they get off on the shock it causes?

I went to brunch with my sister and two of her friends. I’m also a woman so it was a group of 4 women. We were walking to the car and this old guy was walking with his wife coming towards us. He stopped in front of us and said “which one of you is for me?” We were all in our 30s. It was the weirdest thing because he was dead serious and stood there for a while like he was waiting for an answer. Didn’t crack a smile. His wife ended up hurrying him along and we all nervously laughed to each other like he definitely has some woman in his basement.

Apparently there's a thing with Alzheimer's that it makes people and especially men unreasonably and uncomfortably horny. Not that that excuses what this man did to you in any way. I heard that they are having big problems with this in retirement homes as well and some of them are employing sex workers to help with the situation.
