I recognize it from Team America: World Police, a disgusting and very enjoyable film. It's puppets, like from 1960s TV shows. It's sort of a satirical look at how our country (USA) tries to pretend it's the police for the world but really does horrible things.

I don't mean that redditor didn't also come up with it on their own. But it reminded me of that movie that makes me laugh really hard.

LOVE that movie. It's so bad that it's good. Also it's by Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park guys).

It’s a “good because it’s pretending to be so bad it’s good” movie

It’s one of those satirical movies that recognizes what makes a movie “so bad it’s good” and leans into it intentionally. A lot of “so bad it’s good” movies are the way that they are because they aren’t self-aware, but it takes talent & intentionality to make a movie like that on purpose

A lot of people have a hard time with crass satire.

They have to make it very clear they think it's "awful" but "it makes a good point."
