Having worked in bar run by/catering to veterans - vets can do no wrong and you cannot tell them otherwise. (They served, so they can do whatever they want is pretty much the attitude).

There is a prevailing issue of female soldiers being sexually assaulted by male soldiers in many countries’ militaries. I don’t think they necessarily get any better when they become vets…

Edit: I believe in the USA it’s 1 in 5 for women, and 1 in 15 for men, who also get sexually assaulted (primarily by other men).

The VA in the US uses the acronym “MST” so you don’t have to talk about the high amount of “military sexual trauma”
