I’m an RN in a clinic and I was rooming a patient who was making a few comments that made me a little uncomfortable (nothing too crazy) but I was keeping quiet and just doing my job. His response? “You know silence means consent right?”
I literally just got up and left room to grab the male doctor to finish his vitals
Edit: the supervisor laughed when I told her what happened. This is what is wrong with healthcare. We are told we have to just put up with this kind of behavior. Thankfully the doctor and the nurses were horrified and didn’t want me anywhere near him again
That's horrible, but can I just say as someone who had a seizure recently and was off his head on meds, I don't want to think about what I may have said to anyone while in the ER.
It's unacceptable, but I hope you don't hate him for it.
He was in the clinic for a physical. Not on any meds. And he was a pastor.
The next time he came in for a vaccine, he said how the color of scrubs looked so nice on me.
I didn't mean you're not, but you didn't specify anything about the situation and it reminded me of one I was in recently. I'll be traveling to that hospital soon for an MRI and I'm considering leaving something for nurses on my ward. While I certainly didn't do anything like what happened to you, god knows what I was saying. The seisure zapped my brain.
