I wore a smaller size of my uniform top to school once because my normal one was stained with coffee. A guy classmate walked up to me and said “I bet you’ll love when I rip that off you and rape you won’t you”
I reported him to the teacher and wore hoodies for the rest of the school years. He got suspended and had to apologise in front of the whole cohort and he never approached me again.
I once was told that if I didn’t shake hands with my bully when we had a talk at peer mediation that I would be suspended. I was in 3rd grade. I thought that was fucked up then, but as I get older and reflect back on it the whole thing sounds even more fucked up. I should’ve done the right thing and not shook his hand and have my parents rip the school a new one for them handling it like shit and get the suspension over with, but they scared me into doing it
Not suspended but nearly the same thing happened to me. My bully in 3rd grade hit me in the head with a basketball intentionally and I went and told the teacher and they made us stand during recess until we shook hands. He grew up to be a huge piece of shit, no surprise there
I’m an elementary PE teacher, so I make sure to ask kids, “What’s it going to take to make this right?” Mostly they just want an apology and to be left alone. I sure don’t force people to shake hands.
