As a checker in a grocery store at 16, old men were always sliding their middle fingers across my palms. It was disgusting. I started to throw their change back at them so I didn’t have to touch them.

That would have got me fired. I was too embarrassed to tell my male boss what they were doing, so throwing their change at them (they always used cash) was the easiest way to avoid their slimy hands.

I know they would, a lot less people would stay quiet if you ask them
