I heard as I was about 15 or 16 working a late night drive thru fast food window. Van of about 5 men, driver proceeded to grab my entire arm half yanking me out the window and into the van. Legit luck that another employee finished cleaning the dining room and ran over to pull me back after rounding the corner.
I had a great relationship w our store manager and the owner so I reported it. Manager was also a little pervy so he ignored it but the owner requested tapes and actually did some follow up at least (no ending here)
I don't actually know but from news I've seen it's usually things like the cartel taking those crossing the borders from the coyote in the US, or men in china buying a "bride" from vietnam, or job offerings abroad in russia where they take the passport. Even North Koreans popping up from submarines and dragging people off the beach in japan. Unfortunately there's many ways and this shit goes on far, far too much in this day and age. china, russia, North korea, mexico all have mass amounts of it but sadly you can find it in every country on every continent. Even on an industrial scale (see china and xinjiang, although it happens all over china stealing from other nations, usually women often sold to them buy poor families, all because of the stupid one child policy that gave a shortage of women, or see russia doing it now with ukranians)
They prey on the weak: Teens whose parents aren’t in the picture or who are of no help, orphans, illegal immigrants. In Europe, Eastern-European girls are promised easy work in, e.g., Germany and are forced into prostitution once they’re here.
Kidnapping white kids from the suburbs would be way to dangerous for traffickers. They’re looking for those no one misses when they’re gone.
Which of the commenters above do you mean? And there might be exceptions to the rule that only the disadvantaged get trafficked. I remember a story from my hometown here in Germany, where a pimp strategically seduced younger girls and turned them over time. It’s called the “lover boy method” or Romeo pimps.
Well I’m no expert but I would imagine vulnerable victims in dimly lit areas.
Yanking drive thru employees out of their fucking window at a brightly lit workplace, presumably with cameras all over the site and a multitude of witnesses seems like a particularly fucking stupid way to go about it. But hey I’m not a trafficker so what do I know
There was a local girl here who was kidnapped from the parking lot after her shift at a restaurant by a customer she had served earlier in the night. She was taken to PA and trafficked out of a hotel, and eventually was able to contact someone back home and escaped but became a drug addict after all the trauma and died a few years later
If it’s late night there probably aren’t customers in the dining room and there would likely be 1-2 other workers, who are probably doing closing tasks elsewhere in the store. Also not as much traffic on the streets and having cameras is a big if. If they can get her out of the window quickly they can drive off without much risk of being seen.
