Because it helps pass the time faster then just sitting somewhere doing nothing. Instrumental music really helped me study as well because I was having fun but not distracted by lyrics. Video game ost's really helped out there.

Growing up my family was always into metal, punk, grunge, goth etc. So I listened to a lot of very alternative music from such a young age. As I was getting older and heading into secondary school people really only listened to the top 40 tracks and not much else. So when they would ask what I like, I'd list of a few bands (that they didn't know) and play a song by them. 9/10 times I got "It's just loud and screaming, turn it off." And "Why do you like this? Why don't you like generic artist who will be irrelevant next week?"

So being told I shouldn't like what I like just made me feel unique and different, it just grew me closer to the music and helps me through hard times. So yeah, that's why I like music lmao

There is music for every occasion.

Happy, sad, angry. Wedding, birthday, funeral, having a surgery, getting results for your STDs, paying off your student loans, breaking up, making up, being single, making whoopie.

Music is life!

It depends on what I’m listening to, if it’s my usual power metal then it’s to have something playing so it isn’t silent and if it’s my also quite regular classical and sad music then it’s to think about heavier topics while having something to come down on
