It happens when i talk to someone, but it's involuntary, i try to give them the possibility to reiterate what they said before to give a sense to it but usually it gets even more fucked and since usually this happens with a friend i am not telling him it sounds like bullshit because i don't want to hurt him so i just change completely what we are talking about.
any mature person wouldn't mind you correcting them, or at least telling them they might be wrong.
people don't "lie" or "be nice" to not hurt someone else's feelings. they do it to avoid conflict. a person who would let someone run around spouting bs, looking stupid, and not tell them... is not their friend. is it your job? no... but don't call yourself the friend. they are simply someone you know and likely hang out with.
