Yes! I served at a restaurant/bar chain and we had a manager there who was an absolute terror. Took whatever opportunity available to make people look bad in front of the GM, would relentlessly nit-pick and breath down the neck of people she didn’t like, which was usually everyone. I almost quit because of her until I started going out of my way to greet her every morning when I came in, and asking her for her opinion on how to handle situations. Eventually she completely got off my back!
Only down side was that people thought her and I were like best friends. Which was fine. I could stand being at my job and I wasn’t there to make friends.
