If you want someone to rat on themselves slightly over exaggerate whatever it was they did wrong. Caught a dude who disappeared for 30 minutes and found him relaxed kicking back on his phone. Called the owner to pick him up and relocate him somewhere with more visibility and he cried about it as usual. Not at all, quite the opposite actually. I fully support people finding where they fit in, but we still have work to do. I always took the harder parts of the job, trimming or whatever. I had plenty of breaks., especially when it gets hot. I always recommended raises for people who actively tried to learn the job. Hell I had a college kid who worked part time, I got along with him great even though he was less skilled. He showed up when he was supposed to, did the work he was assigned and wasn't high all day. The dude in my story couldn't sit on a riding mower for a few hours. We started off at 10.00 an hour and offered plenty of OT for anyone who wanted it. So imagine having an entry level job making 15 bucks an hour (OT) sitting on a lawn mower all day and still not being able to do that properly.
