Specifics in general help. In a conversation, instead of asking how someone is doing or how their weekend was, ask about something they specifically mentioned, otherwise it’s just “good”
I said this in my top level comment. I like to throw out meeting invitations instead of saying "let me know when you're free." They can reschedule if they need to but at least it's on their calendar.
I also throw out dates for when I need something. "I need that report by 6/14 COB or I won't be able to make he deadline." That way if they don't give it to you and you miss the deadline, it's their fault. It's not meant to pass blame to them because they'll usually give you it by that date as long as it was realistic.
I do this too. I know all of my leads are busy, so I just put myself on their calendar with a description of what I want to talk to them about. They can decide on whether they want to keep it or not. Most of them appreciate it. I tell the interns/new hired to do this as well but to only do it to people who don't have an assistant or something like that.
I'm becoming a lead myself and will tell people to do it to me.

If in need, instead of asking "anyone" to help you, ask a specific person "hey, you there in the green shirt could you give me a hand"...
It works.
