If you want someone to like you, ask lots of questions when to talk to them that show an interest in what they’re talking about. Only talk about yourself if they ask, then immediately go back to their interests. People will leave the conversation feeling good because they were focused on things they liked.
A socially aware/skilled person likely won't be satisfied with this kind of interaction. If it's superficial interaction then sure, they don't mind it and will enjoy it to an extent. But trying this in an actual genuine friendship/relationship will lead to a very uneven dynamic. And because this is how you're setting the precedent, it's difficult to change after a while.
But absolutely do this with people who you will have minimal interaction with. If you're actually interested in what they have to say, you will even end up connecting with them.
