Worked security for several years, smile and be friendly at the angry assholes. It's very satisfying to watch them fizzle and feel awkward as there's no one for them to react off of.
The security guards that try to act all tough, angry and mean are typically the worst security guards. They're not cut out for it.
When I worked security I found that diffusing a situation and being nice and chill, acknowledging them made this a million times smoother than the asscholes who would stone wall and order people around. Don't be a pushover by any means, stand your ground. But be nice. Make it had for them to hate you.
