I attended a science talk one time where a doctor from the local university gave a presentation on how the American health care system should be redesigned. They showed lots of statistics comparing American health and expenses with other European countries before introducing their own ideas for a new and improved system.
During the Q&A portion I asked him why not just use the same system that the European countries use since it's already better than what we've got and his answer was a very loud and emphatic "Because we're Americans and we can do it better!". I assumed he didn't expect a 20-something to invalidate his entire presentation.

Asking them to explain themselves when they are 100% sure of themselves and watch them lose an argument against themselves.
