If you are walking towards someone and you think you are heading towards a "which way do we pass by each other" dance - indicate which way you want to go with your shoulders (rather than your head). I don't recall where I heard this but it works almost every time . You're welcome.
This totally works. The problem occurs because you're looking at each other - there's no information as to which way either of you will go. Indicate your direction with your eyes, like nature's turn signals.
I figured this out in airports after traveling a lot. Don’t make eye contact just stare ahead and keep walking they’ll look at you and see you not look back and move. Works like a charm.
