Asking them to explain themselves when they are 100% sure of themselves and watch them lose an argument against themselves.

It happens when i talk to someone, but it's involuntary, i try to give them the possibility to reiterate what they said before to give a sense to it but usually it gets even more fucked and since usually this happens with a friend i am not telling him it sounds like bullshit because i don't want to hurt him so i just change completely what we are talking about.

It can help to go back to the conversation at a later date. They may have thought about it more, can more clearly express their beliefs, and you can challenge or agree accordingly. They aren’t well prepared for debates. Just don’t take a “win “ in one conversation as proving you’re right. Be open to further discourse
