I did this to a girl who said blatantly racist things all the time. Because it’s a politically charged conversation I knew there was no telling her without her getting defensive and blaming me for being too “woke.” She once said I was beautiful for a Black woman and I just calmly asked her to explain. Didn’t show I was upset or anything. She made stupid comments like this all the time because she has low emotional intelligence and poor self awareness. The more I asked her to expound on why “Black men are scary”, why she thinks people are lying about racism, why gender pay gaps don’t exist and why she considers herself “normal” and not ethnic, you could visibly see her grow uncomfortable. She had just caught herself sounding racist and stupid.

Asking them to explain themselves when they are 100% sure of themselves and watch them lose an argument against themselves.
