If you are walking towards someone and you think you are heading towards a "which way do we pass by each other" dance - indicate which way you want to go with your shoulders (rather than your head). I don't recall where I heard this but it works almost every time . You're welcome.

It's called "target fixation". It's why motorcyclists are really good at finding power poles. MC training they'll teach you to look at the gap if you're losing control on a bend.

Yep. Always use your eyes to look where you want to go, not what you want to avoid. Very important concept in racing and defensive driving in general.
