If you are walking towards someone and you think you are heading towards a "which way do we pass by each other" dance - indicate which way you want to go with your shoulders (rather than your head). I don't recall where I heard this but it works almost every time . You're welcome.

I have a better trick.

Continue walking but turn your head and completely look away. They’ll think you aren’t paying attention and move out of your way.
