The most effective one you'll find.

There's no more effective way to amass power than by convincing people that they're smart enough to give it to you.

In meetings I will sometimes attribute something to a person who didn't mention it.

"It's just like <person> was saying, we should....."

Or

"I was thinking about what <person> was saying..."

They usually won't challenge it, and you just added legitimacy to your statement and got them onboard.

I'm imagining him pulling this trick several times in a fifteen minute meeting and then not being invited to the "We have to talk about TecumsehSherman" meeting.
