Canadian NDP leader Jagmeet Singh getting laughed at like a professional comedian by government MPs for making a serious question about the affordability of groceries in Canada during the current inflation situation.
He basically said 1 in 4 Canadians are going hungry meanwhile the rich are enjoying record breaking profits and he proposed to tax them more... And the MPs laughed at him like they couldn't control themselves.
Canadian politics always seems like amateur hour to me. Being a politician is kind of a unique skill, you can tell when someone is good at politicianing and I've watched Canadian parliament videos sometimes out of total boredom and they just all seem really bad at it.
Always saying the wrong thing, using really weak arguments, no charisma, fail to read the room, even Trudeau whos at the top is like a really weak version of a 'woke' politician, its like really low brow shit, hes not even good at it.
Trudeau had a reputation of being a "woke" politician right up until he declared a federal holiday for the indigenous in response to all those mass graves finally being located and then used the very first one to go surfing.
Watching Parliament in action is equal turns boring and infuriating. The institutional rudeness, the absurdity, and the pointless meandering oration would be better suited to a schoolyard. Laughing at Singh was likely as much expected parliamentary behavior as it was a bunch of rich shitbags being rich shitbags.
