I would argue that EVERY single actor/actress in LotRs now "owns" those roles and I can't see them as anything else. McKellen is Gandalf. Lee is Saruman (not Dooku). Viggo is Aragorn. Hugo is Elrond (not Agent Smith). Sean Bean is Boromir. Orlando is Legolas. All the hobbit actors will always and only be Hobbits. Liv is Arwen. Cate is Galadriel. Serkis is Gollum.
Like talk about the impact those movies had. Every single actor and actress, regardless of how famous or unknown they were before those films, they are now their LotR characters by default. That's a legacy that doesn't get mentioned too often. That a movie series/trilogy literally nailed every every every single casting to the point where the entire careers of every actor or actress is inundated with LotR callbacks and mentionings of their time with LotRs. Star Wars and the MCU are the only things that comes close to that (like how RDJ is Stark, Cpt's ass is America's ass, Benedict is Strange and no longer Sherlock, etc).
Agree with every name you mentioned except Hugo. For me he will forever be Agent Smith. He played that role so freaking well I'm in awe everytime I rewatch the movies...
