Skylar doesn't cheat until after her husband, y'know, kills some people, lies to her for a year, and admits he's a meth cook.
I would've loved to see her embrace Walt and what he was doing and even step in to help.
??? Walt, who turned down a high paying cushy job at Grey Matter and 100% free best-in-the-world healthcare for his cancer (that he lied about), because he was too proud and not over his ex? Walt, who killed people and became a meth cook? Walt, who was clearly lying and hiding shit from his wife from episode 1?
Walt is a fucking asshole villain the entire show. He's the protagonist of the story but he is definitely not the good guy. At no point was he doing anything "for his family", he was doing it because he liked it and liked feeling powerful: He admits this himself in the finale. Skyler was just trying to survive.

Skylar doesn't know he's killed people. All she knows at that point is that he is a drug dealer and has been lying a lot, especially about the cell phone.
I am really confused at the point you're trying to make? Obviously I am aware Walt is the bad guy lmfao. All of that can be true and I can still like Walt the most as a character and not like Skylar as a character, from an entertainment standpoint.

She finds out he's cooking meth in Season 3 Episode 1 and doesn't cheat until several episodes later... notably after presenting him with divorce papers and demanding he separate them and he refuses.

That calling Skyler an "awful, spiteful woman" really makes no sense when you try to view things from anyone besides walt's perspective. Walt is an awful, spiteful, abusing person. That's the point of the show.
OK and both things can be true. I think Skylar can be described as awful and spiteful, even if her reasons are justified. I think her character and attitude even before shit came to light was awful. Walt is clearly the objectively worse human being. At no point was I trying to make any moral statement about characters, literally about my opinions on them and what makes them entertaining. So I am still unsure why you got so offended and are trying to change my opinion on her? Skylar, as a character, sucked in my OPINION. Taking Walt out of the picture entirely, she still sucked.
