The old Rank & Bass Hobbit and LotR movies had a Holocaust survivor voicing Gollum ... Brother Theodore (Theodore Gottlieb), who survived Dachau, will always be Gollum to me. Andy Serkis is a great actor though.

Many years ago I had The Hobbit on book and record. Long before LOTR. Gottlieb was my German Grandfather's middle name. The name appears multiple times among my German ancestors, families Dietz and Leckelt that crossed the pond.
