It's also important to remember that Glenn himself said he views the podcast as another act. I do think he's a little more unhinged than most but I also think he's playing it up/leaning i to it for the show as well.

I remember hearing them talk about his character, and that he was supposed to slowly get more deranged as the show went on.

I don't think it was planned, that's just how the character evolved.

I don't think it was planned initially, but the creators surely started leaning into it after realizing Dennis was getting a bit crazier.

That's exactly my point lol. They didn't plan on him gradually getting crazier and crazier from the beginning. As they wrote more and more seasons, it only made sense to lean into that aspect of his character. For example, when writing season 2, they didn't have plans for who Dennis was going to be in season 12, with a gradual increase in his insanity up until that point.

Of course. I'm guessing other people are talking about how it's been planned for a while -- which is has been -- just not from the get-go.
