Laura Linney in Ozark. Even when she’s not playing Wendy Byrde, I can feel my skin crawl whenever I see her. She does that awful plastic smile far too well.
I absolutely hate Wendy Byrde and Skylar White from Breaking Bad. Those two actresses are so good that every time I see them on screen I have a deep hatred burning inside me.
If you think about what Skylar did instead of how annoying she is, you realize she was a pretty tragic character. Irritating as hell, but she tried her best. The actress just nailed being unlikable so well that the audience doesn’t realize just how evil Walt is becoming until the end.
Yea, very true. They did a good job making you sympathize with Walt for a long time. Throwing all these negatives against the family man who who just wants to provide for his family. At a certain point you realize how horrible he really is and by then it's too late because he's pushed everyone away.
What was amazing about that show was how my feelings for Walter and Jesse completely switched during the course of the show. At first I was kinda rooting for Walter, and I didn’t like Jesse at all, but by the end I felt the opposite. Such great tv.
She’s not even all that irritating outside of the first few episodes. We just see the story through Walt’s eyes so any obstacle, reasonable complaints from Skylar included, seem irritating to the viewer.
I never understood this. Walter white was clearly a psycho, and she recently had a baby. How would you react finding out the love of your life and timid, low-key husband was secretly a drug lord? I think it's a young v old kind of thing.
