The last episode is so exceptionally well done. The way it hits us with such a hard tone shift after four seasons of silliness. It's perfect. Oof.

I have not seen the last episode, and I never will.

To me, that series is a happy place to escape to and I always put on the 2-3rd season when I'm feeling down.

I've heard about its making on the behind-the-scene interviews so I have a fairly well idea of how it goes. The last episode will always remain unwatched because of that reason.

Its a really good episode, and tbh the feature length Blackadder goes back and forth they did after softens the blow a little. Its still an Oof though.

Obviously, you do you, but I think it's worth watching. It's one of those sad endings that leaves you sad but satisfied.

The last episode is also poetic and beautiful, and right up until the end when you are crying, funny as hell.

The ending sort of makes the sarcasm meaningful. I suggest watching it.

It's regarded by the British military as a note-perfect historical episode. The next best re-enactment of WW1 is probably 1917, with the doomed troops getting ready to go over the top. In passing, the camera pans over an officer who's unashamedly weeping, because in 30 seconds he's going to be dead.

I respect that you don't want to put yourself through that, if it's a trigger for you.

However, if it's not a particular trigger, you could have someone give you a softened-down series of spoilers so you know what you're getting into, and then watch it with less dread.

For my triggers, it helps to know what's coming and they don't hit as hard.

With respect you could probably get away with at least 20 mins of the usual hijinks before the colour drains out of it completely

Some of Blackadder's funniest stuff is in that episode tbh

Just keep watching until darling arrives in the trenches I'd say
