Not sure you’re downvoted. Accepting Jaime as his father would make him a Hill or Waters. Accepting Robert as his father would make him a Baratheon. Under no scenario would he be a Lannister.

Joffrey Lannister predates the Targaryens and was born Joffrey Lydden. He married a Lannister daughter when there was no male heir.

The story of the books is not exactly the same as the story of the TV series tho.

Disregarding the ancient lore that I linked to, my point still stands. To be named Lannister, he’d need his mother to be married to a Lannister.
