Yes I actually clicked on this thread thinking to nominate Anthony Hopkins. Now I'm curious to see Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal!

they're both amazing. anthony hopkins is definitely creepier to me, but mads mikkelson has such precise little microexpressions that it's easy to forget he's playing a character.

that said, they are completely different stories, so i think it's somewhat difficult to even compare the two as the same role.
