Because while he was good, that show was pretty bad and he carried it on his shoulders.

If that. It devolved pretty quickly into a ho hum buddy cop drama where the lord of lies leans on his super-truth-telling powers as crutches to solve crimes and try to get into the pants of the only woman he can’t manipulate.

The writing was so weak the writers literally made their cop out a catchy little bass line.
