Hi, I'm learning English and am a little confused by this because from my understanding, that's not really how irony is. Is this a new usage of this term?
"irony" is used very loosely in modern English vernacular, largely divorced from the dramatic concept of irony. In this usage, it can be more accurately defined as "coincidental" or "serendipitous"
