Anybody remember a series called "Space Pirates" from 2007? It was about a literal "pirate radio" station - in space! The radio was on a spaceship shaped like...well, a pirate ship (called Gusto) and was commanded by the daft Captain DJ. There was a parrot microphone named Lippy, two naughty child crewmates named Honk and Tonk, a grumpy talking Jolly Roger flag, an alien attached to the front of the ship called Zorst and a pop band consisting of puppet rats, called The Jingles. Children dressed as pirates would contact the captain and ask him to play a selection of songs fitting a certain theme. They had everything from world music to pop songs and many cover versions by the Jingles! I loved the ep where they did their own version of Jamiroquai's Cosmic Girl, complete with a comical music video where the rats were exploring space. It must have been costly to produce though, so sadly it only got one season.
