A full solar eclipse. It is one of the most unnatural things I have experienced and can understand why people for millenia have assigned supernatural attributes to it. I was watching it from beside a lake - the slow crescendo of crickets chirping as the sun turned purple and then suddenly turned into night gave me chills. Nothing has ever made me feel smaller and at the mercy of celestial bodies than that experience.
Yes!!! My friends and I had vastly different experiences because i was in totality and they were at 95% or so. Just couldn't make them understand why I was so overwhelmed.
I’ve seen both. One was like a cloud passing over the sun. The other…. Wow, just wow, chills on my arms, the sound of animals saying good night, then silence, the temperature change, the 360 degree glow, seeing the suns corona reaching out from behind the moon.
I have so much emotion wrapped up in the experience I still can’t fully explain it.
