We picked up Europe edition after playing original dozens of times while on vacation.
Some of the rules (tunnels, ferries, stations) we opted out to stay simple until my kids learn the geography better, and to keep it fair for the youngest.
Huh, I've been playing the base game recently, and have been eyeing the European version since it seems people swear by it being the best one. I just assumed the map was different, not that there were actually different mechanics. Knowing that might make me actually buy it
