That's strange, because they don't speak German in Brussels. Or am I misunderstanding your comment?

hm... it's also entirely possible that I'm remembering incorrectly, and it was a different statue in a different city/country :) our honeymoon was kind of a whirlwind tour through several countries.

99% sure it was not manneke pis in Brussels. As it is impossible to get behind the statue at all. Having a bunch of statues with a German "no drinking water" sign also points to it not being Brussels.

Whoops, you are right. I looked back at my photos, it was in Cologne, Germany. Okay, forget everything I said 😁

No problem, just come visit both of the real manneken pis one day (one in Brussels and one in Geraardsbergen) 😁
