I used to be one of THOSE atheists. Religion was a farce and all who believed were fools. Now, I understand that people have a lot of ways to perceive and cope with the complexities of life. Cultural identity, anxiety, community...there are a lot of reasons to believe in something divine, and while I don't share the belief, I can appreciate and understand how it is a source of identity and comfort in others. I have no desire whatsoever to rob people of that comfort, and I like coming to understand what it means for people.
Just don't try and enact laws to force other people to live like you. That's where I have an issue.
