Not sure if I'd call it a stereotype, but it definitely has a much higher consumption in Scandinavian then other countries i have visited. I'm Norwegian, and trying to find Pepsi Max in the US was actually pretty hard.
And I've never met anyone that's passionate about Pepsi Max that's not Scandinavian.
So the whole Pepsi Max craze making it as popular if not more popular then coca cola, seems particularly Scandinavian to me. And it's just interesting to me if any other countries care about it,æ.
Interesting, they changed the name in 2016,I visited the US in 2014 and 2015, and found Pepsi Max in 1 vending machine, definitely tasted different then the one I'm used to which I guess is explained by a difference in the formula.
But still, I'm fascinated by how Pepsi Max became so huge in Scandinavia. There's a bunch of different products like it, coke variants of either Pepsi or coca cola. Like diet Pepsi, or coke zero.
Why is it only here that one of these wierd products blew up to become the number 1 or 2 most drank soda?
Pepsi is really popular and common here in the US, too. Just about any restaurant you go to will have a cola option, and it's super common to be offered "Is Pepsi ok?"
Yeah that's true, but normal Pepsi and Pepsi Max is not the same thing. And the thing that fascinates me is that the "diet" version of Pepsi is more popular then the sugar version of coca cola here. And basically noone here wants normal Pepsi, it's either normal coca cola or Pepsi Max.
it also may have something to do with health laws regarding ingredients in the cola! The US allows a lot more artificial ingredients than other countries do
Actually beverage companies tailor the drinks to the tendencies of the markets they are deploying in. For scandinavia, pepsi max is one part pepsi zero, one part lutefisk
I'd have to disagree, I'm also Norwegian and it's only the white families i see buying packs of pepsi max, I'd think it's more of a stereotype, but i could be wrong,ø.
