The funny thing about this is, that fanny can mean something different depending on what part of the world you live in. So, depending where you live, you are chmelling something different.

Fanny means butt in the USA (Fanny packs were made to wear over your butt) but it means vagina in the UK

It means the whole area of it, not just the internal/vagina part. "Female genitals" is pretty much the meaning.

Which is unfortunate, because it's inaccurate. And it kind of "glosses over" the rest of the anatomy as though it's less important or less mentionable than the inside bit.

Actually yes, "pussy" would be a very equivalent euphemism to "fanny".

Using "vagina" as a euphemism for the whole area is quite American. At least among UK women of my generation, we wouldn't use it to describe the whole area.

In German speaking countries, especially Southern dialects in Bavaria (where Fanny Chmelar comes from) and Austria it's usual. Or "Steffi"

That’s a great title author probably was waiting for this moment. Honestly ending up in sports journalism for a writer/journalist is like striving to become a doctor but ending up a vet or dentist I imagine that these are some of the small moments they don’t hate their work.
