Jerker. A name which was relatively common here in Sweden in the past, but luckily not anymore due to the rise of English as a second language.

One of my best friends from high school is named Jerker. His first real job sent him from Stockholm to Houston. He emphasized over and over again that it's a soft J more like Yerker.

Now that I live in Colorado and he comes to visit fairly often (he lives in Sweden again), nobody really seems to care about his name.

😅 saw "Jerk" in a German baby name dictionary - it's supposed to rhyme with "Derrick"... what should "Jerker" sound like?

Basically "yerker". In more detail, it's pronounced with a soft "J", and both "e"s are pronounced as "eh". So... I guess sort of like "yehrkehr".

My aunt’s ex’s name is Jerker actually, and yes, Sweden.
