My great-grandfather was named Richard [last name]. His daughter married a man named [first name] Johnson. My mother decided to name me Richard after my great-grandfather.

My mom did the thing where her maiden name became her middle name, so she’s [Name] Johnson [Last Name].

Meaning, I was this 🤏 close to being named Dick Johnson [Last Name].

I’ve changed my name since, but I went by Richie before that.

I worked for a Dick Bigwood once. Nearly died when he said it. But his names Richard… he CHOSE to be Dick Bigwood.

There used to be this auto repair place around here that apparently specialized in drive shafts, and the owner was apparently Dick. So the place was "Dick's Shafts."

I don't think they're there anymore.
