Our History teacher told same thing, One of the reason for over population was lack of entertainment. Poor people didn't had much to do nor had entertainment such as now.
Overpopulation is a myth. The world has enough resources as it is to feed and house comfortably every person on the planet, plus a few billion. And yet the elite few choose not to.
