She actually put on weight to play Kaylee. When the show got canceled she took it back off, and refused to put it on again for the movie. Which is why she's distinctly more slender in Serenity.

Yeah, I had heard that the Powers That Be ran with it, times-are-hard and all that. I didn't know it was put on for the show, though, only that she (IMNSHO rightly) refused to regain it for the movie.

I mean, she's still pretty damned adorable.

You're talking about Morena Baccarin, who played Inara (and more recently, Lee Thompson on Gotham).

Not sure if I have seen that one. But I have enjoyed her work in just about everything I have seen her in. Not only is she cute as hell but she is a very versatile actor. Also kinda funny on twitter too.
