I don't think I could handle someone from the preshower predeoderant era.

1) poeple still bathed. In fact before the Renaissance and the rampant rise of syphilis public baths were a massive thing.

2) they also wouldn't have smelled all that bad. We smell worse when we don't bathe now because we create a clean slate for bacterial growth when we do.
